A better way to find and hire talent

Hiring takes time. Posting a position can mean sorting through hundreds of resumes, conducting multiple rounds of interviews, paying recruiting fees, and still making a decision without really knowing whether a candidate will be the right fit.

Merge offers another approach. Partnering with Merge helps your organization discover potential talent that you might miss via traditional recruitment efforts. We develop ongoing relationships with the young adults in our programs. We get to know their goals, strengths, experience, readiness, and the support they may need to succeed. At the same time, we work with employers to understand the positions they need to fill and what success looks like in those roles. That means you are not simply receiving another stack of resumes.

Prepared talent

Candidates may receive résumé and interview preparation, professional development, hands-on training, certifications, apprenticeship preparation, paid work experience, and other support based on the opportunity.

A talent pipeline, not a one-time search

Because Merge works continuously with young adults and community referral partners, employers can build an ongoing relationship with a source of emerging talent rather than starting from scratch every time a position opens.

Less time and recruiting burden

We help identify and prepare candidates based on your needs, reducing some of the time your HR team and hiring managers spend sourcing, reviewing, and screening applicants.

People we actually know

Unlike a traditional recruiter who may first encounter someone when they apply for a position, Merge often works with candidates throughout their preparation and career journey. That gives us a deeper understanding of the individuals we introduce to employers.

No recruiting fee

There is no cost to become a Merge employer partner, submit opportunities, or connect with candidates through our workforce programs.

Support after the hire

If you hire someone through Merge, our role does not end on their first day. We stay involved with both the employee and employer to help address challenges early and support long-term success.

Community impact with business value

Hiring through Merge can also help your company create opportunity for system-impacted and underserved young adults while strengthening your workforce and community.

How candidates are prepared before they reach you

Partnering with Merge is more than community engagement. It is an investment in untapped talent and a stronger workforce. Social impact and smart hiring do not have to be separate goals. With Merge, they can be part of the same workforce strategy

Preparation built around the opportunity

Every candidate is different, and every employer is different. That is why we do not use a one-size-fits-all approach.

Professional preparation

Candidates may receive support with résumés, interviews, communication, workplace expectations, time management, adaptability, and other professional skills.

Job-specific training

Depending on the opportunity, preparation may include technical training, certifications, hands-on learning, or apprenticeship preparation.

Real work experience

Paid work experience and hands-on opportunities give candidates a chance to build skills, develop confidence, and demonstrate what they can do in a real workplace.

Individualized support

Some candidates are almost ready to work when they reach us. Others need more preparation. We meet each person where they are and help identify what they need before moving toward an employer opportunity.

Barrier-removal support

Sometimes a strong employee can lose an opportunity because of something that has nothing to do with whether they can perform the job.

Where available, Merge may help address practical barriers such as transportation and other needs that can affect training participation, attendance, and employment retention.

What happens after you hire

Hiring Is the Beginning of the Partnership. Most hiring programs focus on getting someone into the job. Merge is focused on what happens next. We continue working with both the employee and employer after placement to help:

  • address challenges early
  • support workplace adjustment
  • strengthen communication
  • improve retention
  • help employees grow in their roles
  • encourage continued skill development
  • support advancement and career progression

If something comes up, you are not left to manage it alone. You’re not just hiring a candidate. You’re gaining a workforce partner that stays involved.

Workforce funding, training reimbursement & incentives

You may be leaving workforce dollars on the table. Employers spend significant money training and developing employees. In some cases, workforce programs and incentives may help offset eligible costs associated with onboarding, technical training, safety training, certifications, upskilling, or other workforce development.

Merge can help employers explore opportunities that may include:

  • training reimbursement
  • workforce funding
  • on-the-job training opportunities
  • ETP-related support
  • tax credits
  • other workforce incentives

If your company is already investing in training, it may be worth finding out whether some of those costs could qualify for outside workforce support.

More ways to get involved

Hiring is one way to partner with Merge. Your company and employees can also share their experience and expertise with young adults building their careers.

  • mentoring
  • mock interviews
  • career workshops
  • workplace tours
  • employee volunteer days
  • sharing industry knowledge and professional skills
